Home & Town is a "virtual city" concept developed through partnerships with Chamber of Commerce organizations from various cities. A web and CD-ROM based directory is created for participating markets, and sent out en-masse.

our contract
We were contracted to write a complete functional specification for the site,
then design it to fit within existing graphical templates. Core functionality included:

Directory listing engine to allow for listings to be searched, added, edited etc.

Standard e-commerce functionality--product catalog, shopping cart, checkout process.

Member login/authentication for listing owners to manage their own content.
|
|
On-the-fly image processing to allow logos to be uploaded, then resized appropriately for the site and listings.

Email campaign system to allow emails to be sent to recipients matching demographic criteria entered at run-time by the system administration.

|
Complete GUI based administration tools to manage directory listings, member accounts, orders/transactions, email campaigns/templates, etc.
